Platform architecture overview

Five Products. One Pipeline. Complete Control.

Fortify Media is a modular platform where each product handles a specific stage of the media supply chain. Deploy all five for end-to-end automation, or integrate individual products where you need them.

How Data Flows Through the Platform

Six-step data flow from Gateway browse through Thumbnail preview

Step 1: Browse & Select (Gateway)

Gateway connects to any storage backend via StoreDNA integration. Browse files across S3, NAS, LTO tape, Box, Azure, Google Drive, SFTP, and FTP from a single interface. Select files and configure processing parameters.

Step 2: Route & Transfer (Nexus)

Nexus intelligently routes files based on type. EXR sequences, 3D models, and RAW files are sent to Forge for conversion. Standard files flow directly toward your DAM. High-speed transfer via IBM Aspera FASP moves files globally at full bandwidth.

Step 3: Convert & Protect (Forge)

Forge processes media across 125+ formats. Convert video, transcode EXR sequences to ProRes, render 3D turntables, apply forensic or visual watermarks, and generate AI content. GPU-accelerated with autoscaling.

Step 4: Enrich & Normalize (Fabric)

Fabric connects to ShotGrid, FileMaker, and SyncOnSet to pull production metadata. Data is normalized to MovieLabs OMC v2.6.1 standard. AI enrichment (tagging, analysis, classification) is applied. Everything is indexed in a vector database for instant search.

Step 5: Deliver (DAM/Archive)

Production-ready assets are published to your DAM (deep integration with Warner Bros. Backlot) with full metadata, content-hash delta sync, and real-time progress tracking.

Step 6: Preview (Thumbnail)

Thumbnail provides instant visual previews for any asset in the pipeline or archive. 125+ formats, sub-second generation, multi-backend storage support. Serves previews to any system via API.

Architecture Principles

Architecture principle icons showing modularity, APIs, queues, scaling, security, and compliance

Modular

Each product operates independently. Deploy all five or integrate individual products into your existing pipeline.

API-First

120+ REST endpoints. Every capability is accessible programmatically.

Queue-Based

The message queue ensures reliable processing with retry, dead-letter handling, and priority management.

Horizontally Scalable

GPU worker fleets autoscale based on demand. Cost tracking and per-group scaling policies.

Security-First

Encryption at rest and in transit. On-premises AI. RBAC with audit trails.

Standards-Compliant

MovieLabs OMC v2.6.1 for metadata. ACES/OCIO for color. Industry-standard formats throughout.
